Head of School

Welcome to St. Albans Country Day School - home of the Hawks and the "best little school in the West." I have the distinct honor and privilege of serving as the Head of School. It is our mission here at St. Albans to offer an academically challenging and personally enriching educational program for all of our approximately two hundred forty students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grades. Small classes and high expectations help to create an atmosphere where students sense a close connection to our highly qualified faculty and supportive staff. It is our belief that character and intellect are of equal importance. As a school community, we promote integrity, empathy, and a concern for the welfare of others in a safe and nurturing environment.

We have recently added a new library and a state-of-the-art computer laboratory to enhance our facilities. As we continue to grow, we currently offer wonderful enrichment classes which include Spanish, art, band, drama and computers to augment our rigorous academic classes. Students graduate from St. Albans with strong academic skills and a solid foundation in character education, which serve them well when they attend parochial, private, or public high schools. Having recently received our second, consecutive, six year, accreditation in 2006 from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), we feel that our high standards - both academically and personally - serve our students well in communicating effectively, working collaboratively and making a positive contribution to our society. It is my sincere hope that this thumbnail sketch of who we are, will provide a clearer picture of what St. Albans can offer to your child.
